WE MAKE SERIOUS PONTIAC HORSEPOWER
AND WE KNOW MORE ABOUT BUILDING STOCK PONTIAC ENGINES THAN ANYONE.
Who is this non masked man? Steve Cox. The son of Lloyd and Carol Cox.
Both parents drove Pontiac NHRA Stockers in the early sixties. In 1961 Lloyd won SS/A
at the Winternationals in a Ventura and part of the booty he won was this cool torque wrench that Steve still
uses today. Look below at the close-up. Steve says it's the most accurate torque
wrench he's ever owned. And every once and a while when he checks
its calibration it's always perfect. His mom also won a lor driving the car.
I saw Steve torquing his wheels with this wrench and that's what got
us talking about it. Steve has been racing all of his life and is a
threat to kick your butt anytime you end up in the other lane. Proof?
At the recent 2003 Las Vegas NHRA national event he was running Super Street with NO electronics
and foot-braked into the FINAL round where he lost by .04 thou. Yeah baby. Steve's very good.
No, he doesn't run a Pontiac but he's still got a soft spot for them.
